James from Gorilla reached out with an exciting new venture for his Gorilla Cafe brand. With a successful spot already up and running in Kings Heath, he was ready to take on the big city, with a new location in Birmingham’s bustling Brindley Place.

Being smack dab in the heart of the action, surrounded by office workers, tourists, and busy bodies galore, meant there was tons of foot traffic. But with high traffic comes high competition, so the challenge was to make the brand really stand out from the crowd.

The coffee and food at Gorilla are already top-notch, but the interior needed a little extra oomph to appeal to the city crowd. Enter us. We crafted a concept design that kept the heart and soul of the existing brand, but we cranked up the volume to 11. With the shop front nestled behind a portico entrance and no permission for projecting signage, we had to get creative. So, we designed a show-stopping LED neon Gorilla on a bike that could be seen from a mile away.

The result? An interior that’s unmistakably Gorilla, bold, and totally unforgettable.
